"The Lost Sheep"
B.R. Burton
"If
a man among you had one hundred sheep and he
lost one of them, would he not leave the
ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after
the lost one until he found it? And
when he finds it, he will lay it on his
shoulders, rejoicing. When
he comes home, he will call together his
friends and neighbors, and say to them,
'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep
that I lost.' I
say unto you, that in this manner, there
will be more joy in heaven over one sinner
who makes teshuvah (repents), than
even over the ninety-nine righteous people
who do not need to make teshuvah."
